While the film had already angered certain politicians and people of India, the outrage intensified after the ghastly terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed 26 lives. Vaani Kapoor faced boycott calls in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The carnage took the lives of 26 tourists, leaving several injured. The film, directed by Aarti S Bagdi, has already stirred controversy due to Khan’s casting, given his previous work in Bollywood. During this time, India had imposed a ban on Pakistani artists. The situation was perceived to be de-escalating before the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of several tourists. The makers of Abir Gulaal had released two songs from the film — Khudaya Ishq and Angreji Rangrasiya. However, the two songs have been removed from YouTube. They are not available on the official YouTube channel of the production house, A Richer Lens Entertainment. The songs have also been removed from Saregama’s YouTube handle, too.
