Chelsea are reportedly ready to consider offers for talented young defender Renato Veiga this summer despite only signing him less than a year ago.
The 21-year-old joined from Basel last summer and made only 18 appearances for Chelsea in total before joining Juventus on loan in January.
Veiga has impressed in his time in Serie A, showing signs of developing quickly into a top player.
Chelsea, however, don’t seem to be planning to bring Veiga back and are instead open to the tempting possibility of selling him for a considerable profit, according to The Athletic.
The report states Chelsea spent just €14m on signing Veiga, and one imagines they could now let him go for a lot more than that.

Selling Veiga for considerable profit just one season after signing him could be really smart business by the Blues, but one imagines some fans will also find this strategy frustrating.
Chelsea’s current owners have put a lot of emphasis on signing the world’s best young players, and so far it’s not really doing much to deliver results on the pitch.
CFC fans are used to seeing their team win major trophies and playing in the Champions League, but they still look some way from being the force they used to be.
Perhaps Chelsea fans just need to be a bit more patient as these young players mature and develop, but selling someone like Veiga surely won’t do much to improve results and performances.
The Portugal international looks like someone who could have a positive impact in Enzo Maresca’s squad, and Chelsea fans will be frustrated if the owners’ aim is purely to make money on players like this.
Veiga’s fine form at Juventus will surely tempt the Italian giants to sign him permanently, while one imagines other clubs will have noticed his potential.
