Selma Blair is “truly in remission” from multiple sclerosis, nearly seven years after she went public with her diagnosis.
Selma Blair, who opened up about her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis in 2018, is “truly in remission,” she told People on Thursday, nearly seven years after she went public with her diagnosis.
“I am doing amazingly well. I’ve been feeling great for about a year,” she said, while attending the Daily Front Row’s ninth annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards. “But I am finally well enough to really, genuinely … I always try and feel my best, but now that I actually have stamina and energy and getting out and going out isn’t so scary.”
In January, Variety exclusively reported that Blair was making a return to acting with three new movies entering production: “Stay Forte,” a drama about the Israel-Hamas war; a supernatural thriller called “Silent”; and a twin drama “There There.”

“I started feeling really better this last year and I’m back at work and doing things, so I will have things to announce,” she told Variety at the time.
“Stay Forte,” directed by Israeli filmmaker Doron Eran, tells the story of three Israelis taken hostage by Hamas during its Oct. 7 attack in Israel.
“This film is not just a narrative; it’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the bonds that unite us against unimaginable tragedy,” Blair had said in a statement. “I am honored to be part of this journey, which truly reflects the diverse fabric of Israeli society—people of many religions caught in the crossfire of conflict.”
In “Silent,” Blair plays a sound designer who finds herself fighting ancient evil forces that are unlocked while she’s working on the restoration of a silent film. “There There,” directed by Mark and Michael Polish, is about twin brothers who didn’t know each other existed for 40 years. Blair plays a supporting role as one of the brother’s former love interests.
