Why top draft analyst thinks Howie Roseman could trade up Thursday night – NBCSP
Jeremiah was on the latest Takeoff with John Clark to talk about what his former boss, Roseman, might do in the upcoming draft with all these picks in his pocket. “I think he’d move up,” Jeremiah said. “I think there’s so many people that want to get out in this draft, that are trading back. What has Howie done his entire career? He’s zigged when everyone else has zagged. And he’s going to be able to see if we have a premier player start to slip, man, they’re armed. They’re armed and ready to go. I’m sure we get to it because we always talk about what could happen there and what the predictions might be. It’s impossible to make a prediction of who’s going to be there at 32 but I will make a prediction that if … for some reason people overthink Jalon Walker like they overthought Nolan Smith. ‘Oh, he’s not big enough and the size.’ If he starts to drift and drop, I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, they could just go do the exact same thing all over again.’”
Philadelphia Eagles 2025 NFL Draft board – PhillyVoice
Trade up from 32. Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia: Williams has outstanding power, quickness, and agility to go along with his great length at 6’5, 260, with 34 3/8” arms. He is also versatile, as he lined up all over the Georgia defensive line. Like most first-round Georgia defensive prospects, Williams’ sack numbers aren’t overwhelming (14 sacks in 3 seasons), but he also played through an ankle injury throughout the entire 2024 season. Williams plays disciplined team defense, and he’s a force in the backfield against the run. That alone should earn him an immediate role in any defense. But he also has a lot of room to grow as a pass rusher as he continues to develop more of a rush repertoire. […] Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss: Nolen had 4 sacks for Texas A&M in 2023 before transferring to Ole Miss. He had 6.5 sacks in 2024. His career production has not always matched up with his potential, as he was the No. 1 recruit in the nation (via ESPN) coming out of high school. Still, he has raw power, he is obviously gifted, and his production improved throughout his college career. […] Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall: Green led the nation with 17 sacks. He’s explosive at the snap, he has speed, and a repertoire of pass rush moves (ghost, spin, and some nice inside counters).
10 veteran players the Eagles could acquire during the NFL Draft – BGN
Michael Mayer – Tight End. A trade for a tight end only makes sense if the Eagles move on from incumbent Dallas Goedert, a move I have written they should not make. The 24-year-old Mayer was the Raiders’ second round pick in the 2023 Draft at No. 35 overall, and put together a promising rookie season with 27 catches for 304 yards in 12 starts. However, as Las Vegas’ QB situation and overall environment deteriorated a season ago, Mayer’s performance did as well, with just 21 catches for 156 yards and no touchdowns. Brock Bowers is going to be the Raiders’ primary tight end, so a trade of Mayer makes sense for them. He’s a better blocker than in-house candidate Grant Calcaterra, so if the Eagles do trade Goedert, they could look to replace him with a combination of Calcaterra and Mayer.
Draft Nuggets – Iggles Blitz
Tony Pauline says that UCLA edge rusher Femi Oladejo could sneak into the end of the first round. He mentions the Niners as liking him and the Eagles also being a possibility. Most draft analysts and sites have Oladejo rated as a second or third round prospect. This could be Oladejo’s agent leaking something to Tony to drum up interest. It could also be Tony catching wind of a player that teams like more than the media and analysts. Oladejo makes sense for the Eagles. He is a former ILB who moved to edge rusher. He is 6-3, 261 and a good athlete. Oladejo had 4.5 sacks and 13.5 TFLs last season, showing good playmaking ability. He reminds me of Jalyx Hunt, in terms of size and having a different background. Oladejo wasn’t at a small school, but he’s still new to playing on the edge.
Eagles sign Cam Jurgens to 4-year, $68M contract extension through 2029: 7 thoughts on what deal means for Jurgens, Eagles – PHLY
Jurgens is recovering from back surgery. It’s still going to take some time, but the reports are positive after he labored through the postseason. He said he will make a “full recovery” and the back problem will be “in the past.” “Man, I honestly feel like a new man. I feel so much better,” Jurgens said. “When you’re playing for a Super Bowl, that’s going to last forever. Back pain is going to last however long it wants to last. But I’m gonna be a Super Bowl champ forever.” One could say that the Eagles might want to see Jurgens healthy before making this type of commitment, although I would argue there’s more “risk” on Jurgens’ part than the Eagles’ part. The center market could move again with Tyler Linderbaum eligible for a new contract, and then others behind him. I’d guess this deal ages better for the Eagles than for Jurgens. This is not to say Jurgens shouldn’t have signed it. You try holding off on nearly $40 million guaranteed. That’s the key to the way the Eagles operate. They don’t mess around or wait for the market to settle, instead taking advantage of being the first movers by setting the market with fair deals. If they make the right bets — and, at least on the offensive line, they have — and spread the money over enough years, they’ll avoid cap trouble and have top players on good deals. “I think it’s the same thing that the Eagles think: The Eagles love me and I love the Eagles,” Jurgens said. “Why wait another year when we can get this done? I think it’s just as simple as that. I love it here, and I want to stay here, and they want me to stay here.”
Six takeaways from Cam Jurgens signing his contract extension – PE.com
5. What will his first purchase be with the new contract? “I haven’t given it too much thought. I feel like I fly a lot, so I might look into this thing called TSA PreCheck. I feel like that sounds like a good idea. I’m kind of tired of waiting in lines. I think I can afford that. I’m going to look into TSA PreCheck next and see if I can get that done.”
What does Eagles’ center think about possible tush push ban? – NJ.com
“I’m just a football player here and if they ban it, they ban it,” Jurgens said Monday after signing his four-year contract extension that will keep him with the Eagles through the 2029 season. “It’s beyond my control. I feel like it’s a fun play for us to run and we run it really well, so it would be a shame if they take it out of our hands. But that’s not something I need to be concerned with.”

Here’s Exactly How the First Round of the NFL Draft Will Play Out – The Ringer
With the Philadelphia Eagles up at 32, general manager Howie Roseman gets a call from Schneider. The Seahawks were debating between Banks and North Dakota State offensive lineman Grey Zabel at 18. They settled on Banks, but now Schneider is feeling the heat to shore up Sam Darnold’s protection and can’t pass up the opportunity to try to land both players. He offers Roseman a second-round pick (no. 50) and a 2026 third to move up to 32. Roseman is good with the compensation, but as part of the deal, he insists that Schneider texts the GM group chat and lets everyone know: “Howie is my [goat emoji]!” Reluctantly, Schneider agrees. And the Seahawks select Zabel. (On Friday, Roseman will use pick no. 50 to select Minnesota offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery.)
Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts Marries Longtime Girlfriend Bry Burrows – People
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback — who is Men’s Health magazine’s May/June 2025 cover story — revealed to the outlet that he and Burrows tied the knot this spring. While doing an interview for the story, he told the magazine that by the time the feature was published, “You can call her my wife.” According to Men’s Health, the 26-year-old athlete came to the interview with a crumbled-up pink Post-It note in his pocket with a sweet message from his now-wife that read: “You are exactly where you are supposed to be. I love you. Follow God! I follow you.”
Brandon Graham receives the Mason Spencer Man of the Year Award, thanks to one 8-year-old’s kindness – Inquirer
“You keep showing your kindness and helping people and I hope that one day somebody gives you one too for doing the same thing,” Graham told ‘Mighty Mason,’ who survived a kidney transplant at 3.
2025 Projected UDFA Class Sizes – Over The Cap
As always, the formula used to calculate these projections is simple: subtract from the maximum roster size (90) the number of players currently on the roster, and the number of draft picks each team currently has. [BLG Note: The Eagles currently have room for 10 UDFA signings.]
Washington Commanders 2025 Draft Week Mock Draft – Hogs Haven
Round One (Pick #29): Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss. My plan was to see what trades were available to me and take the best offer, but none were really intriguing. I couldn’t believe that Nolen had dropped (rated eighth best player by PFF) to 29th overall. The value was too good to ignore and Washington needs to address the DT position anyway.
Cowboys’ potential ‘curveball’ at No. 12 could throw NFL Draft for a loop – SB Nation
But could Dallas throw a big “curveball” at No. 12? That is a possibility floated by Albert Breer in his massive pre-draft piece for Sports Illustrated. Working through each team in the first round Breer discussed potential options, and when it came to the Cowboys while he led with both McMillan and Golden, he addressed two different positions beyond WR. First was cornerback, where Breer mentioned that Michigan CB Will Johnson would be a fit, but his knee issue and questions over his long speed could see him fall. Then Breer threw the curveball: “The name that a couple of people brought up to me here as a potential curveball is North Dakota State OL Grey Zabel. Yes, this would be a little early for Zabel. But he’s considered a pick that’s safe like Duke C Graham Barton was a year ago, and Barton had a very solid rookie year for the Buccaneers. Everyone seems to like Zabel, and I’d bet he won’t make it out of the teens, so this isn’t too much of a reach.” This would not be too far outside consensus, as according to NFL Mock Draft Database Zabel is projected to come off the board at No. 18 to the Seattle Seahawks. While Zabel played left tackle at North Dakota State, he is projected to slide inside to guard in the NFL. Could he be the Zack Martin replacement the team is looking for?
Predicting each pick for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft – Blogging The Boys
1.12 – WR Matthew Golden, Texas. Golden was a 30 pre-draft visitor for the Cowboys and someone who would immediately step in and upgrade the WR2 position behind CeeDee Lamb. With his route running ability, inside/out versatility, and speed (4.29) he’d also give Dak Prescott another reliable target in the passing game.
Giants land 49ers QB Brock Purdy in a very bold pre-draft hypothetical – Big Blue View
In this trade, the Giants strike a deal with the 49ers to land quarterback Brock Purdy, whom the Niners chose not to extend in this situation in hopes of landing another quarterback they can lean on with a rookie contract. The Giants are sending the No. 3 pick to the Niners while also receiving pick No. 100 from San Francisco to help sweeten the loss of a premium pick on top of having to fork out a sizable extension.
Sources: Browns, Giants fielding trade calls as NFL draft nears – ESPN
The Cleveland Browns and New York Giants are fielding trade inquiries for their early picks in the NFL draft, sources told ESPN’s Peter Schrager. Although the Tennessee Titans are not entertaining offers for the first overall pick as of Tuesday morning, sources told Schrager that the Browns, who have the second pick, and the Giants, who pick third, have received trade calls over the past 48 hours — and that neither team is outwardly rejecting those overtures. The expectation, sources told Schrager, is that those teams looking to trade up to the No. 2 or No. 3 pick are pursuing Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter or Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.
