It’s Day 107 of the Chicago Bears offseason. I made a breakfast sandwich with leftover ham from Easter that was so good that I wish I had made a second. That home-made glaze (honey, brown sugar, cinnamon) took the ham to another level.
ESPN’s Jordan Reid drops off his final seven-round NFL mock draft. This is who he has the Bears taking: Round 1, Pick 10: Mykel Williams, Georgia EDGE
Mykel Williams, Georgia EDGE Round 2, PIck 39 : TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State RB
: TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State RB Round 2, Pick 41: Darius Alexander, Toledo DT
Darius Alexander, Toledo DT Round 3, Pick 72: Andrew Mukuba, Texas S

Jeffrey Bassa, Oregon LB Round 7, Pick 233: Jackson Slater, Sacramento State G
Jackson Slater, Sacramento State G Round 7, Pick 240: LaJohntay Wester, Colorado WR
That Mykel Williams pick could be a boom-bust type of selection, but the juice could be worth the squeee if Bears Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen can develop the UGA product’s traits at the next level.

Chris Emma’s latest mock draft (via 670 The Score) has has the Bears landing on LSU offensive tackleWill Campbell as the guy. I am fascinated with how Campbell ends up in Chicago because of what Emma mocks happening in the first nine picks.
The fifth and final installment of 2025 NFL Draft prospect rankings from NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah is here. And as you might expect, a load of players who have been connected to Chicago (and are possible targets on the Bears’ board) pop up. If the Bears can come away with four top-50 prospects with their first four picks (which are all within the first 75 selections), then I’ll be a happy camper.
If there is one thing the Bears are, it’s interesting. They haven’t been good as often as any of us would like. But they’re always interesting. Let the record show that I am not alone in sharing this sentiment:
The Bears are one of the most interesting teams in the draft. Should they add a skill player in round one or focus on the trenches?

One of the reasons Chicago’s football team is an interesting one to follow this time of year is because the front office didn’t paint itself into a corner to the point where it needed to draft a particular position in Round 1. The Bears can go in any number of different directions that would make sense. It feels better to be in this position than the alternative of needing a particular player whose availability could be what swings your mood on NFL Draft Weekend.
Oof. It sounds like it’s a tough year to be in the market needing to draft a QB. (The Athletic)
The Philadelphia Eagles signed center Cam Jurgens to a four-year extension worth up to $68 million. And just like that, Drew Dalman’s time as the NFL’s second-highest-paid center is already over.
It looks like the Bears are taking another step toward making a move to Arlington Heights:
Bears stadium news tonight …
Arlington Heights officials have retained a consultant for peer review of the Bears’ economic impact study – which was just received at village hall – for the potential redevelopment of Arlington Park.https://t.co/oDikUYNREf— Chris Placek (@chrisplacek) April 22, 2025
Arizona State running back prospect Cam Skattebo was busy with visits late last week. In addition to trips to chop it up with the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports (via Twitter/X) Skattebo also had trips with the Detroit Lions and Tennessee Titans. Skattebo was a first-team All-American who finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting after racking up 1,711 rushing yards and scoring 21 ground scores for the Sun Devils. I’m not sure where he’d fit in Detroit, but I know some Bears fans who would like him in Chicago.
The folks at Awful Announcing have a roundup of the latest on ESPN’s expectation that it will retain the NFL Draft media rights. I’ve been watching the NFL Draft since the Dave Wannstedt era. If you would’ve told me that this event would’ve turned into what it is today, I’d laugh in your face. It’s impressive if you think about it.
