As reported by the Daily Sun, a senior representative from Lahore Qalandars has acknowledged the team’s interest in Shakib Al Hasan, though no agreement has been finalized.
“We are considering him, but nothing is confirmed yet. We’ll announce details about our international players once everything is settled,” the official reportedly said.
Shakib has previously played in the PSL for both Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.
It’s also worth noting that Shakib Al Hasan is a former member of parliament affiliated with the political party of ex-leader Sheikh Hasina. Hasina was ousted in a student-led movement last year and reportedly fled to India by helicopter.

Shakib Al Hasan was competing in a domestic T20 tournament in Canada at the time when Sheikh Hasina’s administration collapsed. Since then, he has not returned to Bangladesh.
The seasoned left-handed all-rounder has had an illustrious career, featuring in 71 Test matches, 247 ODIs, and 129 T20 Internationals for Bangladesh, with a combined 712 wickets to his name.
His most recent appearance in professional cricket came in November last year, where he played for the Bangla Tigers in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
For context, PSL Season 10, which faced a brief pause last week due to escalating cross-border tensions with India, is now scheduled to resume on May 17. The opening fixture will see Karachi Kings go up against Peshawar Zalmi at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The Rawalpindi venue will host three games, including a double-header on May 18 — with Quetta Gladiators playing Multan Sultans in the afternoon, followed by an evening matchup between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi.
