Radeon PRO W9000 coming
AMD is finally bringing RDNA4 to professional GPUs.
The Radeon RX series will soon expand with two new options: Radeon RX 9060 XT and Radeon RX 9070 GRE. These will target lower price points and offer fresh choices for gamers. However, professionals using Radeon GPUs have been limited to the RDNA3 series, which had not seen updates, until now.
Rumors circulated for weeks that AMD planned a Navi 48 GPU with 32 GB of memory. So far, nothing confirms this for the gaming lineup, despite reliable leakers insisting it was coming. It turns out AMD is doing it, but for a different audience.
The Radeon PRO series will soon gain a Navi 48 XTW GPU. This unnamed card, likely part of the Radeon PRO W9000 series, will feature 32 GB of memory, presumably GDDR6 ECC. That falls short of last generation’s 48 GB or 64 GB, but specifications may still change.
It’s worth remembering that AMD’s “Advancing AI” event is set for June, where Instinct GPUs for data centers and the ROCm (Radeon Open Compute) platform will be discussed. It could also serve as the stage to unveil these new professional workstation GPUs.
Leaker Hoang Anh Phu hasn’t mentioned any other SKUs yet.
