What is WWE planning for the main event of the Backlash premium live event next month?
WWE Backlash has been announced for Saturday, May 10, at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. And a new report confirms that the company intends to utilize a hometown here in the show’s main event.
This afternoon, WrestleVotes took to social media to report that the current plan for the main event of Backlash is John Cena defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton, tweeting out:
“Surprise, surprise: The main event of Backlash is set to be John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship—billed as “one last time.” This will be their first singles match since 2/11/17, when they headlined a house show in New Mexico,” WrestleVotes said in a post.
This match was first teased earlier this week on RAW when Orton hit Cena with an RKO.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on the card for next month’s Backlash event as it becomes available.
