A football club has won an award for its commitment to environmental sustainability.
Northampton Town’s “Cobblers Tackle Food Waste” project, led by the club’s community trust, was announced as the Green Club Award winner at the 2025 EFL Awards on Sunday.
The initiative aimed to improve understanding around food waste across Northamptonshire.
Lorna Stockwell, from the community trust, said: “I’m speechless to be honest but it was an amazing project. It was a ground-breaking project, we went into schools and across a 12-month period the impact was huge.”
